Oh My Gosh .... !

Post by .45mac.40 »

:tiphat:

Went to the Texas Gun Show last Saturday, in Austin.
While browsing the tables .. (Sticker shock) ... I came across a glass box, displaying about 15-18 .........DRUM :smilelol5: ROLL ......
CHL BADGES ! !
The Vendor ... stated, Go ahead, pick one up, check them out ! ,,, AHhhhhhh, I politely declined, mumbling something about, I really didn't need one.
The young man, SMILED .. and nodded ... while saying thank you.
I'm sure he'll be there next month ... JUST IN CASE, you need one ?!? :biggrinjester:

Just for giggles I would love to walk in to a gun-show with a Leather Jacket, NRA Baseball cap, CHL sash, Belt-pouch for CHL card display, US/Confederate/TX flag pins and a wide variety of CHL badges all over the Jacket. All while shopping for the badge that I didn't have yet.

I too went Saturday and the vendors were crazy. The prices were beyond absurd. A used Mossberg Maverick 18” with synthetic stock for $250??? I told the vendor I can get this any day at Academy for $160. He told me to go to Academy.

I saw the badges too. They are for wanna be cops

Yeah, they hate when people tell them that.
I saw (at a different show) a vendor tying to sell Glocks for $75 over what Academy has them for. One guy let them know how he could get the same gun for less money and they became very rude with him and told him to leave their booth.

The oddest thing about th show is we could hear the vendors belly aching about not making any money. I went there thinking I could find a good used 12 gauge with barrels that I can change out from home defense to bird shot and slugs. I had money in my pocket too.

Guess I should have bought a CHL badge.

Generally, if I think that the price of something is silly, I'll just say "Thanks" and walk away. Chances are the vendor knows at least as much I about the prices in other places, so what's the point?

I bought a CHL-themed magazine (Concealed Handguns???) last week. Towards the back there is a full-page, full-color add for the CHL badges. About as useless as [female apendages] on a boar hog.

Ya know, I've been told that at gun shows as well.

What authority do they have to disallow cameras at gun shows? Especially ones on Government Property (GRB, Reliant, etc)
What can they do if you take one in and start taking pictures anyways?

I've always wondered on this.
