Get fitted for a suit...
I now know never take my Xdm 9MM "Hole Puncher" with me to go buy a suit. I had the lady that worked at this certain store measure me for a blazer and as she was measuring me she touched my side and asked if it was a cellphone...!!! I will never do that again!

Re: Get fitted for a suit...
I dont buy suits very often, but I will say that in the three or so times that I have been to Jos. A Banks to be fitted,
the salesmen and the tailor have been aware that I was carrying. They have been more than cooperative in fitting the jacket and trousers to accomodate IWB carry without it showing as a lump. While I understand reluctance to make an issue of concealed carry, there are some circumstances under which a tactful and careful disclosure can be worthwhile.

Re: Get fitted for a suit...
I like to wear my suit pants (and jacket) a little on the looser side, but I'm a belt AND suspenders guy. There's always plenty of room for my carry gun. When the fitting is going on I tell the tailor to leave the room in the waistband in lieu of taking it in.

While I don't have first hand experience, I have been told that Men's Warehouse is very accomadating in regards to concealed carry cutomers.

How do you plan to get it fitted properly, then?

Our Jos A Bank does an excellent job of fitting with the gun in place. No objections from their personnel. And boy do they have great sales. Got three quality suits for the price of one!

Jesus said, "And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 NET) Also, Jesus said, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own homestead, his possessions are undisturbed"(Luke 11:21 NAS)

Why didn't you just say, "No, it isn't."?Chinaman0389 wrote:I now know never take my Xdm 9MM "Hole Puncher" with me to go buy a suit. You could also go to a different store, or ask for someone else to fit you, if she objected to your handgun.

I would imagine that Tailors are one of those professions that have seen everything and learned to be discreet to stay in business.

This is extremely relevant to me right now, actually, because I need to get a suit for a forthcoming wedding.
Can anyone recommend someplace on the West side of Houston that is confirmed CHL-Friendly? I would rather give my money to a place that is pro, than is anti or neutral.

I'd have said "No, it's my PDA"
(Personal Defense Assistant, but I just say PDA)

Re: Get fitted for a suit...
Another recommendation for Jos. A. Banks as a CHL-friendly business. When I asked for a looser waist and wider belt loops to accomodate my favorite gun belt they immediately asked if I carried, how, and did everything I asked. Good people at the Sugar Land location.

Re: Get fitted for a suit...
I was fitted at K & G without an issue. The tailor told me that he fits customers who carry regularly.
