on one of my XD9sc extended magazines, when I load the magazine, the spring does not always expand back out to keep up pressure on the rounds.
So at times during loading, the rounds may fall back out and other times, when using the magazine there is not enough tension on the rounds that once you fire a round, it will eject, but will not fully insert a new round ready to fire.
So my thoughts are, either the spring is bad (or not straight (if that is even possible)) or the magazine is dirty and needs cleaned inside.
So, does anyone know how to inspect a magazine? how to disassemble it and if so, what to look for once it is apart?
thanks

Maybe the spring you have isn't the proper length. Maybe for the regular rather than the extended version magazine?
It is also possible that the spring is installed backwards or upside down.
I am not familiar with the XD magazine, but I believe most magazines are pretty similar. Maybe this will help:
