Front sight failure?
So I just got a new M&P 45 compact. I'll do a full report with gun porn when I can. In the mean time...the first 150 rds went off without a hitch except that towards round 100 I felt a slight sting on my face and much to my surprise my front sight is no longer white
Is there some sort of white insert in the factory sights or are they just painted inside. Either way the insert or hardened paint shell came flying out and hit me (wear your glasses folks). Do I need to send this back to Smith and Wesson or can I just paint it white again and if so what should I use? I do plan on putting night sights on it at some point but in the meantime...suggestions?

Use a little "white out" to restore your sight's dot.
