Choice for Pocket Revolver
So I think that the next thing on my buy list will be a pocket revolver. I'm just looking for ways to be sure to always carry even in some situations where a holstered SA just doesn't work well. I'm not a big fan of .380 but would consider things in the .38 or .357 family though I'm really happy with a .45
. Throw some recommendations my way. What is a good choice for pocket carry revolver?

The Ruger LCR is a good way to go. I personally carry a S&W 340PD in .357. I practice a lot with .38's, but I always run some .357's through it because that is what I carry in it. It is a BEAST to shoot, but I love mine.

Precisely why I carry a Smith&Wesson 642 in the front pocket all the time...It's always there.phrogg wrote: I'm just looking for ways to be sure to always carry even in some situations where a holstered SA just doesn't work well.
Works well in a bathrobe pocket also...pictures upon request.

North American Arms .22 Long Rifle 5 shot pocket revolver.
Its a back up, but nice and small and very comfortable to carry.
Check it out!

Mine's a S&W model 37 in a Kramer pocket holster. Easy to carry and easy to stow.

Any J-frame with a 1 7/8" or 2" barrel. You can choose from all steel frame or scandium if your wallet allows, both are great and reliable. The Ruger GP100 is a little heavy for pocket carry but a great weapon too.

All good recommends, my S&W Bodyguard .38 Special +P is with me at all times. It's great for shorts, jacket pocket, comes with a laser and, the best part IMO, NO infernal internal safety lock!!

S&W 637, 638 or 642 all in .38 Spl. S&W is currently offering a $50 mail-in rebate to help you decide.

Can't go wrong with a j frame. Ruger LCR great choice too. And also the Taurus J frame knockoffs.
For pocket carry I also can't say enough good things about Mika's pocket holsters

I'll add one more vote to the Ruger LCR camp. If you want something a little bigger, the sp101 in very nice too, but probably not quite in the "pocket revolver" category.

Re: Choice for Pocket Revolver
All great recommendations folks! I'm really liking the S&W Bodyguard 38 and the S&W 340PD. I'll spend some time at the gun shows this month in Houston looking to put my hands on them and get a feel for them. But I gotta sell something first before I can buy another...too many purchases in one month already

I've had great luck with the S&W 642. If you like the ninja look
get the 442.

Re: Choice for Pocket Revolver
I like my pocket revolvers in the hammerless, .357 variety. I'd recommend at a minimum a shrouded hammer. Just easier to maneuver into and out of a pocket. If you have the dough, go for a S&W. On the other hand, I've had great luck with my Taurus 650 CIA.

Re: Choice for Pocket Revolver
I have experimented with pocket carry in the past and do not care for it. But if I were to try it again, the S&W 642 would be at the top of my list for revolver pocket carry.
