Neighbor had a break-in - 2 houses away

Post by Boma »

My next door neighbor told me a black male crawled through his neighbhor's kitchen window. He was halfway in and she screamed and he ran away.
I hardly talk my neighbhor but he came up to me for the first time. He said it took police an hour to arrive. I told him to get a gun, and he said he has plenty and smiled.

I had my XD ready as I was outside washing my car. 3 events happened within the last year to myself and neighbors. Can't move out yet, no $$. must finish school first.

No place is safe but some are better than others.

How's that for mastering the obvious

Even if it had only taken minutes, serious injury or death could have occured... and the attacker made good an escape.

I encourage all (who can) to take responsibility for their own safety.

That should make the fact even sweeter that YOU control your property and do not have to move out because of what people are doing around you. I think it is easy to lose sight of this and give control to someone else before you realize it. It is wonderful that you have encouraged your neighbors to protect themselves!

The police are wonderful. They have a recording device on the other end of the phone that will hear you telling someone over and over that you are armed and they need to stop and leave your property.
