New Sig 516

Post by LongHairedRedneck »

I just picked this rifle up Monday after special ordering Friday. Bought some extra mags, Ammunition and a EOTech. I was going to take and post pictures but decided to make a video and post on youtube so the whole world can see. The overall appearence of the fit and finish seems to be great, nice and tight. Looks to be a well made rifle, we'll see about that at the range.

Another post will follow after the first trip to the range(trying for Saturday). Enjoy!!

Well after a few very frustrating minutes trying to embed the video heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI18FjJE4Ag

That's a sweet rifle, what do they usually go for?

MSRP is $1300(thats what I paid) but since they just released them you see some trying to sell for well over that amount.

You have to remove the www. before it. No idea why, thats just how it works :thumbs2:

Now a question, Was the bolt that shiney because of the Finish? Or was it just REALLY Lubed?

Its shiny from being super lubed, that was the first time I opened the rifle up. The factory is not shy with the packing oil/lube.

Thanks for the heads up on the youtube embedding :thumbs2:

The 556 is based on the 550 series rifle which is a battle rifle in a few European countries.

The 516 is a short stroke piston driven AR-15 platform rifle. The only similarities between the two is the Sig Sauer name and they both accept AR style mags. I just give the link to Sig's site for the 516 http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCa ... ductid=296 adn for the 556 http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCa ... ductid=114 figured that would be easier than me ranting.

So 516 is another piston driven AR. I like the 556 swat patrol
