I don't watch commercial television these days --I do pick up a series now and then on DVD. I am a bit of a movie buff though, and have watched a lot of movies. Be it in TV shows or in the movies, I'm trying hard to recall any representation of a citizen competently and responsibly defending himself with a gun. A citizen with a gun is always depicted as incompetent, irresponsible, murderous, or crazy.

Rick Castle, from Castle, shot a BG a few episodes ago. I think it was portrayed as more of a lucky shot than a competent shot, though.

Maybe I could show the Jury some of the Crime Scene Photos I've either taken or had as evidence in the home invasions/burglaries gone bad that I have worked to show my State of Mind about Burglaries and Home Invasions. One of the last was an eldery woman who had two young men (one just out of the Marines) who forced their way into her house looking for drugs (the lady was a long time nurse) and then proceeded to sexually assult her numerous times, beat her till she was unconcious and then cut off her head. Or maybe the case photos on the guy who had a burglar beat his head in with a tire iron while burglarizing his house......
Things like this gives a person food for thought when they find someone committing burglary at their home or people forcing their way into their home in a home invasion robbery about Self Defense.
Just something to think about as a defense in a trial.....
