I just noticed in the downloaded LCP owners manual on page 11, twice it has (in bold red letters) "Do not use '+P' ammunition."
How serious should one take this? For example, if one was using MagTech Guardian Gold, should they be concerned? This is the first I'm aware of modern pistols having this restriction. Thoughts, experience, recommendations are welcome.

Welcome to the Forum! I personally would not run +P ammo through the LCP on a regular basis. Shoot a few for test to make sure the LCP will feed it. Use regular .380 for practice and use the +P ammo for carry ammo.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Ran a box of +P through it and it worked great - except for the two rounds I put in the groin area - need more practice.carlson1 wrote:Welcome to the Forum! Already have 100 rounds of regular for my next visit to the range and that's what the majority of my shooting will be.
Thanks for the fast response.

Two rounds in the groin area? Doesn't sound like you need more practice to me! That should do the trick.

Re: Ruger LCP and +P Ammunition
There is no such thing as +P in 380. Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) sets the +P in the firearms and ammo industry. They have never set any for 380. It is an advetising gimmick. Any company which sells ammunition loaded above the standard SAAMI specification is selling dangerous ammunition. There are no firearms rated to use such ammunition.
There will always be prayer in schools as long as there are tests.
