Academy sells a single shot rifle made by CVA called Stalker for $159.
Anybody had any experience with it? I am thinking to buy the .223 for prairie dog hunting.

Rats, as I heard, are not bad at all. I know in some parts of China they farm and eat mountain rats. Very expensive though.muleman wrote:I wouldn't eat a rat either...
After you shoot a prairie dog with a .233, there won't meat be much left to eat. The challenge is hitting a 3-4 inch targets at 100-200 yards.

Prarie dogs are hunted as varmint control. Anywhere there are livestock, the dens are a danger: livestock step in the holes and break legs. They are also carriers of fleas and the plague.

That would be prairie dog shooting....not hunting. Doesnt seem to be much sport in that. A beercan would serve the same purpose.
