I have read that anyone who has a CHL and carries should have a lwyer on speed-dial in case you ever need to use it.
Can anyone recommend a lawyer in Denton County who has some experience in this regard?

"Be Careful (there's usually a speed trap on Colorado Street -- A Denton Police Officer hides behind a tree in the Colorado Court Apartment Complex) -- the speed limit is 30 m.p.h.
This radar trap is non-discriminating.... Officer Horn of the Denton P.D. also gives tickets to on-duty Denton County Sheriff's Office Deputies and Assistant District Attorneys."
I guess he's looking out for everyone, huh?
According to his "Select Cases", only four dealt with "Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon". This first and last listed were thrown out due to improper court procedures and the second and third were dismissed. He doesn't have an email addy listed, or at least that I could find. It seems the only way to contact them is to call.

CHL holders are not going to be charged with UCW unless they're in a school or something like that. What everybody is worried about in a self-defense situation would be aggravated assault or manslaughter.

Well most of the "Assault causing bodily injury" and "Assault with a deadly weapon" cases ended in a reduction of the charge or a dismissal.

Most state charges result in a plea bargain or dismissal. Only about 3% end with a trial and conviction. I personally don't think that his site shows any bias for or against gun/gun control, because they're just aren't any specifics. I am curious to know if anyone is planning on contacting them to find out their stance on our interests.

I don't really see any show stoppers with this guy...
If he's convienient to you, I'd give him a call and set up short visit...Tell him what you believe you may need his services for "just in case"...See what he says...
Check out the walls in his office and waiting room (if he has one)...If its decorated with all sorts of beheaded animal life, pictures of hunting trips, him standing next to Wayne, Ted or C.H., then I think he'd be a keeper...

A good attorney defends every client as well as he can without regard to his personal views. After all, they don't approve of drunk driving, wife-beating, or robbery.
It would be nice to have a pro-RKBA attorney, but it's not essential.
If you want to connect with one, attending a Friends of the NRA event would probably give you some leads. (These events are meant to part you from your money as painlessly as possible, but it's a good cause.)

Ummmm...maybe because I don't have any money?..attending a Friends of the NRA event would probably give you some leads.
