Remington 700

Post by Abraham »

$397.00 equipped with a cheap 3-9 power scope available at Walmart in a variety of calibers. - what I don't know is if they're any good?

I'm interested in a .243, and was assured the safety problem was fixed.

What say you about this rifle?

Thanks!

Remington 700 is kind of the standard of the industry. It's a great choice and there are limitless modifcations that can be done to this rifle. Everyone and their brother makes parts for this rifle so you can trick it up in the years to come.

My brother bought one two years ago. It's a synthetic 270, and he uses it every weekend he goes out. He still has the same scope it came with, and it works just fine for him. I have the same Remington 700 adl that I purchased for 400 just for the gun alone when they first came out. +1 for Remington 700 and -1 for there rifle ammunition. My vote is go get it and in a couple years switch the scope out to a 4x12x50.

The safety issue is fixed. TMK
They are good rifles and that seems like a very
good price if indeed it is the 700.
I do not currently have one but have had three in years past.
Good luck.

Are you sure it's a 700 and not a 770? Simular but very different rifles. If it is a 700, I'll take a couple at that price.

Got my '06 700 ADL - composite stock, cheapie version - at Wally world several years ago for $369 (sights, but no scope). Did some customizing on it and have had zero issues. Definitely a keeper.

The 700 ADL, which was a great bargain, has since been discontinued, which is why I posed my question.

There never was a safety problem with the Remington 700. there was a trumped up story based on phony evidence and misquoting of "experts." I have a Remington 700, and it is a superb rifle.
