I think I'll be able to handle it ok with the new style grips.

This has been my range/IDPA gun for over a year now, so it shoots much better than I do. :oops:

The same can be said about my Kimbers. They will punch a hole where ever your aiming, but you better be on target. I may be in the minority, but I prefer wood grips on my pistols. They look great, and they just feel right to me. Out of curiosity, what type of grips did your commander come with/were on it before? I don't know much about what Colt's factory fit and finish is like.

Someone suggested stainless hex grip screws, so I tried a set from Ed Brown.

Actually, a lifelong friend of mine is a master cabinet maker and is making a custom presentation case for my 1977 Gold Cup. :cheers2:
