I had a black 27; bought all the parts to convert
(barrel, ejector, extractor, spring loaded bearing, magazines) so it would basically be a 26.

Then someone wanted a 26, and he bought a green 26 at a gun show, so we traded and I like green.
If you don't replace ejector, you get beaned in the head/eye by hot brass ... ok for "fun" but distracting if needed during EDC

9mm Extractor/spring loaded bearing are reliability things you probably want if using every day carry

I never finished converting the 27, so I couldn't tell you, but for total reliability for every day carry, I'd just get a 26 if you want 9mm

but "just for fun" all you "need" is the conversion barrel .... and eye protection ... and scalp protection if you are bald (hot brass isn't fun)

I get Lone Wolf BLIND MARKED (no visible engraving or wolf pictures) barrels. Others are comparable.

Just my opinion, like I said, I never finished the conversion on that 27 ... I love my green 26 though.

For what it is worth here is a guy that did:

I haven't made the conversion, but thought about it for IDPA since the 9mm is cheaper to shoot by 30%. Then I bought a Slightly Used (Still had the factory grease) G19 and never looked back. I did retro a 3.5 disconnect and Night Sights but other than that they are stock. Most of the defensive instructors that you see on tv say get a factory gun and use quality ammo and don't alter the gun for self defense use. I would get nervous using a conversion for SD....YMMV.

Extend mag releases might be great for a competition, but if you accidenatlly eject your mag before or during a gunfight....... :txflag:

Thanks for that; he basically did what I first did, since his was a temporary conversion, he didn't replace the extractor+ejector; ... but then had a less than perfect reliability

We set up Glocks similarly, though there's another brand of mag spacer I like better than AG, but can't recall the brand, however I have 3 brands and stippled them all anyway as the objection to the AG was not enough texture.

I don't use extended mag releases, just extended mags.

g19 sized mags with the spacer are what I carry typically EDC ... sometimes a 20 rounder with spacer (g17 +3) but to conceal I just cant the holster more so grip is more vertical, ... slide is still short enough to do that easily..

I agree on preference of a stock gun, rather than converted for EDC/defensive purposes.

My Green 26 with a black slide and stainless barrel has:
Advantage Tactical sights (Orange rear, Yellow front)
Internal Guide Rod Laser
Extended ported blind marked Stainless barrel
Various capacity mags from 10-20 rounds using Pearce +3 PG-39 floorplates/extensions and mag spacers (several brands)
Custom stippling for better grip.

I'd post a picture ....... but then you'd want it
(Niece brought a boy over who works at his Uncle's gun store sometimes, (they sell Glocks) his eyes lit up and was like WOW, what kind of gun is that? I've never seen one ... Is it custom made? )
:smilelol5:

(I open carry around the house)
He was a nice boy, very well behaved around my niece
