Frog lube

Post by Jbird5363 »

I just got a sample of frog lube yesterday complements of amss on jones and WOW ! I'm am forever a fan it's a green product non oil base clp product safe for the enviroment and pet and child friendly so much so I tasted it. I wouldn't spread it on a sandwich but if the munchkin or dog got into it I wouldn't worry a bit. The guns I'm having issues with are an 870 and a sigma. The parkerized 870 is a rust magnent every time I shoot it if I don't clean it upon my return home it will be covered in flash rust The next day thank you gulf of Mexico. So me having the engineering background I do I have do a test so I cleaned half the rusted reciever with hoppes and it looked good as new then went over the same side with frog lube pulled a lot more rust off then the hoppes did wow I'm impressed. Then I clean the whole gun with frog lube and now it cycles so much smother. Now they have my attention so I whip out my sigma to try to knock off the rust spots on the top og the slide. It recomends you warm the metal for the best results so I did so with a heat gun just enough to nlbe warm to the touch. And went to town on the slide with the frog lube and a brass brush and again wow it did a great job you can hardly tell it ever had a rust problem. I'm sold it also pulled buildup off the wather I couldn't get with hoppes. Now I have to see how it does on the range as a lube and the long run for protection on the 870. I highly recomend it for cleaning.

Well done. I prefer Lubriplate. Military training I suspect. Still a good idea.

Slip2000 products for me, but similar in nature: synthethic, non polluting, and bond protectants to the metals

It was developed by a chemist that was a navy seal and it has menthol smell to it so my wife quit complaining about me cleaning the guns at the dinner table.
