And no, I don't plan to carry it. That is what I have my 1911s, XD, XDMs, Sigs, and Rugers for. Now why did I buy it if I don't plan to carry it? Lets just say that I have my reasons, as for specifics I plead the 5th.

From the front to the back of the grip I think the difference is 2mm. Putting the medium backstrap on returns you to the original grip size found on previous guns. I found (For me) that the feel is very different with no backstrap versus the medium. I do like Glocks system over their competitors because your changing the entire backstrap, not just the lower half.XtremeDuty.45 wrote:I do not like the look of the GLOCKs but they do work and thats what a gun is for. I have a that I use as my daily carry and an XD for my nightstand gun, hiking and hunting. I have been wondering about the gen 4 and the new backstraps. Is the grip/s significantly smaller now or is it just a minor difference?
Not you too!USA1 wrote:Don't worry G.A. Heath, I too have been having dark thoughts for a while now.
I've been fondling a Glock 26 lately at the gun store.![]()
It's getting about time to build up the arsenal and it's on the short list.
One thing about Glocks....Love'm or hate'm...they work.
I am aware of this, and mine has the 03 spring. It would actually be an interesting twist if the Glock refused to function properly right out of the box. I can say that I have not had any issues with other guns that people claim to have issues with so we will see if that carries over for this one. Now I need to get my $$$ built up (to buy the next gun), loose 10lbs (Resolution is to loose 10lbs between guns), and locate a 9mm M&P w/o the safety, lock, and magazine disconnect with a 4.25" barrel.cubbyjg wrote:All i own are glocks for now. They look ugly but they always function for me. Next pistol will be a 1911, bc i just have to have one! Just in case, check which recoil spring came with the g19. I believe the 04 is the newest recoil spring which is not as stiff and shouldnt lead to issues. For some reason, glock decided to mess with what was working on the gen 3 g19 and are trying to rectify the situation.
This is what I thought it was called, but Smith's naming conventions are a dark and evil art which is best practiced by a master of their system. I have shot a number of M&Ps, including the model I seek, but have not thought to remember the particular names. However for my purposes a new unused gun is required, so borrowing the one I had shot is not an option.mbw wrote:The model M&P that you are looking for is the PRO. Comes in 9mm and 40 S&W. It has a trigger upgrade and no mag safety, no thumb safety, and no lock. Feels great in the hand, almost like a High Power, and shoots great.
