PA-63 Car Gun Project Completed

Post by doc540 »

Good range report

Double action trigger is reasonable (for a car gun) (11lb Wolff)

Recoil is significantly reduced

Cycled Silver Bear HP's and Monarch FMJ w/o a single FTL

(Dang, that Russian powder is the stinkiest I've ever shot!)

Project Completed

Assigned to car duty

Yes, it was Monarch ammo from Academy Sports. Ran like a Deere.

Cool, glad it is working out for you. I plan to grab a FEG if they ever pop up at J&G again (unfortunately missed it this time around, they went fast!).

Monarch Brass or Steel? The reason I ask is, the brass is not Russian, but the Steel is.
The Brass is excellent Serbian-made ammo, so your comment about the smell had me curious.

Had to go look. It's steel and has an odor unlike any I've ever smelled.

Interesting. I've only shot the brass, but entertained the steel before due to cost. I think I'll pass now.
Thanks for the info.

Nice car. And so I don't get off the topic, nice gun too! :txflag:

which leads me to ask, you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine, right? ;-)
anyway, nice lookin' gun! I've heard the DA trigger on them things is a bit much, so being able to reduce that was pretty nice, I'm sure!
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

My wife hates it because it's a "station wagon". :smilelol5:
