After Mumbay-style Attack....
So many threads afterAZ.shhoting about ban this ban that. I am now very worried how the backlash against fitearms would be aftetr a Munbay-style attack? Casulties could be 10x higher and such attack would only be blamed on how easyly evil black rifles can be obtained.
I just hope that NRA has defensive plan for that

Re: After Mumbay-style Attack....
There was an article in the Wall Street Journal after the attack that Indians were clamoring for the government to issue more gun permits to citizens and for private security. It is apparently possible to obtain such, but they are a "may issue" and usually only available to the politically connected. In visiting Bangalore in 2004 I noticed that the airport police carried STEN(like) 9mm submachineguns w/ side mounted magazines.Beiruty wrote:So many threads afterAZ.shhoting about ban this ban that. Re: After Mumbay-style Attack....
Unfortunately, a Mumbai-like attack happening in the US is, IMHO, more a question of "when" than "if".
Politicians will react in predictable ways, I believe. The left will clamor for more control, the right will stand behind 2A. The Left will want more cameras, greater scrutiny, less liberty. The Right will not be innocent in these matters either ("Patriot Act").
The world is heading in a dangerous direction. Individuals and bands of individuals, not armies, are the new enemy (except maybe the DPRK). Fighting this enemy, while maintaining Liberty is not an easy task.
[discussion of closing porous borders, 2A, etc, etc purposely omitted]

Re: After Mumbay-style Attack....
I thought the Mumbay attack was patterned after the Waco Camp Davidian incident.
