I would volunteer to be a test subject as I am a sufferer of tinnitus. My hearing is very good except for tones that are at or near the tones that are constantly in my head. To much of this when I was younger and in the military :fire :fire :fire :fire .

boo, hiss.

That's very fascinating. Sounds similar to deep nerve stimulation performed to aid patients with Parkinson's tremors.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

I'll sign up. Ringing in my ears almost daily and very annoying not to mention distracting.

My Dad had nerve damage received during a military test in Utah back in the 60's. His escalated so bad in a matter of a few days that they ended up clipping the nerves so that he could just function. Ended up on a hearing aid the rest of his life. Good to see some progress as Tinnitus and even worse Meniere's Disease are basically untreatable other than symptom control at this point.

I'm ready to sign up!

Being inside a hardened shelter when some nimrod decides to fire up an F-16 without warning does bad things to your ears. :mad5
