Notice the height and cant that it has, not to mention it pulls the gun in very close to the body.

If you settled on a holster for your first carry gun without going through at least 6, you:USA1 wrote:Define "normal".SecedeTX wrote: Is it normal to have 6 holsters for the same gun????
One of my current favorites is an El Paso Saddlery "Sky Six" that I picked up at CTD in McKinney: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LEG529-33.htmlG26ster wrote:Personally, I dislike IWB, so I'm intrigued by the OWB discussion here. I also dislike waiting months/years for a holster. So, can anyone recommend an "off the shelf" OWB holster for 3" 1911 with a good cant to carry at 3:30 or so? Thanks.
Pawpaw thanks. Does the slide and barrel stick out the bottom with a 3" 1911. In the photo it does, and I would be concerned about it readily being identified as a gun if your shirt rode up just a bit.Pawpaw wrote:One of my current favorites is an El Paso Saddlery "Sky Six" that I picked up at CTD in McKinney: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/LEG529-33.htmlG26ster wrote:Personally, I dislike IWB, so I'm intrigued by the OWB discussion here. Lately, I'm using my Tucker "First Strike" (with the leather lining) a lot. With the paddle attached, I can slip it on & off very easily: http://rlcompanyusa.stores.yahoo.net/fistpa.html
I use these with my Kimber Ultra CDP II, with a 3" barrel.
The Fist holsters are top quality, very well made, and usually delivered in a couple of weeks. My favorite is the K2 Kydex High Ride, but the company makes lots of other OWB versions. Their leather holsters can be seen here.G26ster wrote:Personally, I dislike IWB, so I'm intrigued by the OWB discussion here. I also dislike waiting months/years for a holster. Which one are you asking about? Let me know & I'll try to get a picture tonight.G26ster wrote:Pawpaw thanks. Does the slide and barrel stick out the bottom with a 3" 1911. I was just looking at these again yesterday and they were all in stock. I am looking at getting the concealable belt holster since it holds the gun slightly different. If you go with any of these Galco products you will NOT be disappointed. The one I have now is GREAT but if I can get something that is slightly better, why not?G26ster wrote:Personally, I dislike IWB, so I'm intrigued by the OWB discussion here. COMBAT MASTER BELT HOLSTER
This holster has a bit more forward cant and it is also made to hold the gun differently so that it rides closer to the body for easier and better concealment.
CONCEALABLE BELT HOLSTER
This one seems to be made very similar to the Concealable Belt Holster just with better leather.
