I doubt any department in Texas would try that, and it it were found to be a good shoot and they were to refuse to return your gun you would have a good civil case against them under the 5th Amendment (deprivation of property without due process).ghostrider wrote:There was a short discussion Saturday about that fact that if you ever use your gun in an SD situation you will probably never see the gun again.
Anyone know of this actually happening in Texas?
Getting it back in good condition is another question entirely, and I have heard some horror stories about the condition guns are in when they are returned to their owners--guns confiscated after Hurricane Katrina being the most egregious example.
