Gun Safe recommendations

Need your thoughts on a gun safe for long guns.

Looking at the Bighorn 5928ECC-SPL on sale till the end of this month at costco.com for $599.99 with free shipping. I currently only have 7 or so long guns that would go in the safe but never know when we might get more and really like the idea of shelf space for ammo and other items. Also like the holsters for handguns on the door. This safe is listed as a 24 long gun with a 30 min fire rating.

Anybody know of anything better for the same money or even a better deal?

With gun safes you get what you pay for. I had about a <1k budget when I went shopping for my safe, I ended up blowing that out of the water b/c I watched several videos pertaining to the ease of getting into an inexpensive safe. It took about 30 seconds to 3 minutes depending on the features and level on security offered. None of the inexpensive safes took more than a few minutes. They are regarded as lock boxes or gun cabinets more than safes now a days. If you have something worth putting into a safe I suggest spending at least half the value of the contents or more.

Thanks for the response but I can afford what I can afford. This may end up being a "starter safe" if you will, but right now I can not spend thousands of dollars. Looking at the construction of this safe it is not something the average "kick the door in and grab what you can grab" scum is going to be able to get into. I don't believe a pro is going to mess with breaking into my house.
My main concern right now would be something that would protect valuables during a fire and be a stumbling block to a punk teenager.

Get as big as a safe as you can afford. Saves you $$$ in the long run.
