I have the S&W SW99 - the "joint venture" ? between Smith & Wesson and Walther.
It is chambered in .40 cal.
It is my primary EDC, but I don't particularly like the DA/SA trigger, and even in
SA mode it is not very smooth.

Re: Opinion on Walther Hand guns
When I was active in IDPA, a few shooters showed up with P99s. They eventually switched to something more reliable.
I know some forum members LOVE their Walthers and that they've never jammed . . . fine. I believe them. But I know a few shooters who simple weren't so lucky.
I had a Walther air pistol. Once Walther quit making that model, they quit making spare parts.
(I read that at least one college pistol team with Walther target pistols had the same problem.)
I've seen quite a few different folks with P22s at the range struggling to get through a full magazine.
So . . . Walther does make some good guns. But they also make plenty of turkeys. (Maybe the bad ones are Monday AM or Friday PM guns?)
