Gunsmith recommendation - Polishing

Post by ntexaschl »

Hello Forum,
I have a stainless 1911 that has been bead blasted. I don't particularly care for the appearance, so, I'd like to have it polished. Are there any gunsmiths w/i the DFW metro area that are noted for their work w/regards to polishing 1911s?

Thanks

Talk to Tony at Winchester Shooting gallery. He's a great gunsmith, and has polished many a gun that looked fantastic IMO. Also, he's a die hard 1911 guy. His is a series 70 that's parkerized, but he's helped me and a few other guys out with that kind of thing. His shop number is 817-507-0069. That location is at 820 and Lancaster...
about 65 days to plastic...
Carry guns:
Springfield V-10 3.5" 1911(thanks again, Texasvet)
Glock 26
Springfield XD40 4"
Llama 1911 (hey, don't knock it. Never had a SINGLE reliability problem with it. Over 1000 rounds through it.)
(lots of long guns, and a few other pistols for other use)
