I did the same thing, I got a new spring. It made the gun worse in my opinon. Before it would jam a lot and a lot of FTF. I called customer service and they told me the damaged casings was normal. I got a new spring and it made the dissassembly pin pop out when I racked the slide for a awhile. Now it locks the slide back after every shot fired. Glad yours is working. I am going to have Sig take this pistol and send me it 100% or I am sending it back.Pawpaw wrote:Mine started out horrible too. The problem was recoil spring "stacking". Slowly working the slide by hand, it would hit a point of stiff resistance about 1/8" before it got all the way back. Without the recoil spring, everything was as smooth as butter.
I called customer service and described the problem. They sent me a new recoil spring and the problem was solved.
Of course it still had a few break-in teething issues. The last time I shot it, it went 100 rounds without missing a beat.

E150: Sounds like you are already planning to sell her according to your signature.lol.
What kind of ammo are y'all shooting out of her? I shot some Winchesters and a bit of Monarchs. No hollowpoints just yet.

I'm looking for a small of back OWB carry for this gun(Sig P238). I'm using a very ugly holster and it's hard as heck to draw but I make do with it. It's a Tagua open ended type holster for small carry pistols. It's an OWB/IWB holster and the P238 is so small I can actually carry it OWB with no problems nor detection issues. I was looking for some OWB, small of back type holster. If not, then a tuckable IWB holster. I'm on a bit of a budget of about 50 bucks here. I don't want any 'one size fits all', but a molded one with no wiggle. If y'all know of any, please let me know. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I recommend the Kholster. I use the Full Moon with my 1911 and it is incredibly comfortable. The Little Moon will fit the P238 and is the same holster, only smaller.68Charger wrote:I'm looking for a small of back OWB carry for this gun(Sig P238). Well, for an OWB holster, I have one that Riverrat made for my wife in the classified section but it is Pink. but it could be dyed any color. Fits and wears great. I am willing to accept an offer of reason as you mentioned here. BTW her P238 has worked great.

My 238 has maybe had half a dozen malfunctions in around 700 rds. Few FTE's is all I've had other than me putting in the recoil spring backwards and the pistol proceeding to chew it up

Re: New Sig 238 Nitron from SA gun show.
I heard my fair share of stories on the 238 about those issues on this forum and some others. Sounds like a bad egg. You should contact Sig to see if they can help you out with that. I only had one FTE out of 150+/- rounds I shot out of it. I thought that was fairly decent considering I had JUST gotten it. I also didn't run it wet like I read you have to do with it at first. I stripped it, added a tad bit of oil and went off on my way. If you do by chance send it to Sig, let me know how that goes for you. Hopefully it wont steer you away from Sig's.
