Bersa 380 Shoots like a dream

Post by bugsbunny45 »

I took my Bersa .380 to the range today and put about fifty rounds through it. I think I found my CCW that I will use. In the fifty rounds that I shoot no problems at all.
All my rounds were well grouped and the Bersa fit my hand very well.
As I talked another shooter at the range he showed me the Walters PPK he was shooting and the looked just alike.

I've been a Bersa fan for a long time. I've had a couple over the years and they've worked just fine.
They're certainly not "high end" or anything but they are a great gun for the money IMO.

Here's a pic of one I picked up used for $179....runs like a sewing machine.

One of the gunsmiths I know has one, and loves it. He was having one problem though: On the weekend he installs fencing, and gets really sweaty... Due to this, he was sweating through his holster and the slide was getting LOTS of rust fast... So, he decided to have some fun and sandbast it then parkerize it. No more rust!
about 65 days to plastic...
Carry guns:
Springfield V-10 3.5" 1911(thanks again, Texasvet)
Glock 26
Springfield XD40 4"
Llama 1911 (hey, don't knock it. Never had a SINGLE reliability problem with it. Over 1000 rounds through it.)
(lots of long guns, and a few other pistols for other use)

The blued ones sure do like to rust up.
If you don't keep them oiled well, just the humidity in the air will cause surface rust. :???:

That's why I like the nickel finish. ;-)

The one I'm getting is a nickel finish. So it's good to know this stuff.

I know of about 3 Bersa 380s in my circle of friends, including having bought one for my girlfriend. All 3 of them are experiencing the same problem: FTE

All 3 are owned by women. Most of the pistols have a problem with a guy shoots it, except a DPD officer fired my girlfriend's & it too FTE. I haven't had any issues with it. I still think they're limp wristing it. My 4513TSW will FTFeed when my brother limp wrists it & I've never had one issue when I fire it.

I've had no malfunctions what so ever with mine. It does not seem to like some older Winchester USA ball ammo I have. No malfunctions, just not as accurate as others I've used. Other than that it's a favorite shooter.

I have quite a few women that shoot Bersa 380s in my classes. These women DON'T have any issues with theirs.

After hearing about how the Bersa had a bit of kick for a 380 I was expecting a big push from my little pistol.
After my first shoot was like is that it.. But hummm the other two Pistols I take to the range weekly are .45's
