Took a new gun home from the gun store today...

The fiance had a girls night of pedicures, dinner, and wine. I took the little one (her's but he'll be a step son staring this summer!) to Academy before meeting some coworkers for wings and a beer. We left with the above beauty. It is a 0.177 caliber, a little small for defensive use, but it holds a few hundred in the magazine tube. We should got a chance to ping up some cans soon. This is such a cheaper way to go than the guns I've been buying recently (limited edition Colt Talo night commander, H&K P7, etc).

"Range report" and actual photos to follow.

I bought one of those for my son for Christmas in 2009. He laughed. After he had opened the box, I told him there is another box with the accessories over in the corner. That box had a stainless barreled M1A Loaded in it.

Actually, gigag was smart to buy the Daisy Buck rifle instead of the much more dangerous Red Ryder rifle, which - as we all know - a young man is apt to put his eye out with that thing.:

Yer right pod'ner! I didn't notice it was The Daisy Buck Model and not the dreaded High Capacity Red Ryder which holds 650 dangerous rounds. That's a lot of potential glass eyes. Should have known by the straight stock! Either way "It's a Daisy"!

No doubt about it, the child will shoot his eye out. Then he'll look like this smiley ;-) (only all the time).

If EVER anyone was going to "shoot their eye out", it would have been me or my brothers when were kids with BB guns, but somehow...none of did.

Good on ya, for getting the lad his first gun! Have fun, be safe. (DAD)

I had the magnum version; Daisy Model 25 pump which was THE most powerful BB gun for it's time. Ironically I got shot in the eye with a BB. Not with a BB gun, but a slingshot. It was unregistered so we couldn't trace the owner after he ran around the corner of the house. He looked suspiciously like my next door neighbor and friend Raymond and since I had a similar weapon he could've claimed self defense. I just told my P's that I didn't see who dunnit. Still have the eye but got a little abberation on the cornea. ;-)

In best Dirty Harry voice:

"I know what you're thinkin': 'Did he fire 200 shots or only 199?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a Daisy Model 25 pump, the most powerful BB gun in the world, and would blow that ballcap clean off your head, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"
