Conroe Gun Show

Post by Papacub »

I appologize if this has been posted. The Conroe Gun Show is now being hosted by High Caliber Gun Shows. Seems like SAXET no longer has any Conroe shows on their calendar. Does anybody know why SAXET pulled out????
By the way the Conroe show is Feb. 26th and 27th.

Thanks!! :txflag:

Papa,

I don't know the answer to your question. But I CAN tell you High Calibre is a pretty good operation. I've been to their Pasadena show and they have always had something that piqued my interest. Let me know if you ever go and find a KT PF-9 or a Ruger LC9. That's basically all I'm hitting the gun shows for right now. But, then again, you never know until you walk in the door.

We headed up to Conroe today and spent some time perusing all the shiney things! It was PACKED! I had a great time as did my youngest daughter. She had folks giggling by calling a 9mm SBR "cute". She was so excited to get some thumbsavers for loading the Ruger 22 she likes to shoot. Then she and her daddy found a "good deal" on a gently used S&W 22 pistol (look out CompVest, she has a new "practice weapon" for class). I think it looks like something out of Buck Rogers.

MAR and I found our first EBR, a 223 Delton. It had the features he wanted for basically what he could build one for, and it felt good on the shoulder.

I found a concealed carry purse with a locking zipper - unfortunately I got home and the key is missing, so waiting for them to call me back. They had red/blue guns in all the sizes I carry, so this will work with all my carry pieces and she threw in a second "velcro" holster in so I have a small one for the 380 and colt and a bit larger one for my 9C.

Of course for the price of entry you get the entertainment of people watching, and there were plenty to watch! I thought it was a worthwhile trip - but I am pretty easily entertained!

ETA - I found a really nice deal on a Kahr PM9 - gently used, very little sign of use at all. But I controlled myself as I love my 9C and hubby had already had enough fun for the both of us, ;-)

Yep! Packed as usual! The wife and I hit the show around 11:30 and barely found an up close place to park. And once inside, I got awful tired of walking sideways "rlol"
Ended up buying a High Standard (Armscor) Crusader Compact 45 auto! Didn't get a chance to shoot it, but I will tomorrow, and let ya'll know how it runs. It's a compact 1911 style with a 3 5/8" barrell. :txflag:
