Taco Cabana is notorious (for years) for posting 30.06 "sheets of paper" in the darndest of places...

I used to go to eat at those places...

I must say, having a company tell me I am not allowed to protect myself on their premises definitely offends me to no end. I was not carrying at the time as I had just got done taking my last final on the Blinn campus so I went ahead and got some food, but this meal is effectively the last meal I will purchase from them.

*sigh*
I work next door (and I do mean right next door) to the Taco Cabana in Burleson.

Their 30.06 sign is not binding because it does not meet the physical letter size of one inch tall. I would not like to be a test case however.

I do go in there because they are right next door and I'm not allowed to carry on my job anyway, plus they give all of our employees a 10% discount. I walk in, order, fill my drink while they place my order in a bag and then get my two soft chicken taco's and walk back out the door and come back and sit at my desk and enjoy my taco's.

I have sent a couple of e-mails to their corporate about posting, but never have mentioned the non-conformability of their signs.

Do you work at the dealership or at the restaurant on the other side? I didn't think anybody else on here lived anywhere near Burleson.

So, that Taco Cabana is posted but done so improperly, huh? Would you ever carry there since you believe the sign is improper? I haven't been there since getting my CHL and never looked before. I may not be returning there.

I believe the discussion a long while back was the corporate instructions were to post the 30.06 signage, but never detailed enough from that group of yahoos to post correctly in compliance to the law...

Most of the TC's that were observed by our members and from other discussions in other forums was that they seem to be consistantly wrong...

And therefore questionable in their need to be complied with...

But as I tend to lean torwards honoring the intent, and recently desiring to see companies penalized for not posting in compliance to the law, I have decided to not patronize those companies regardless...

And would urge others to do so as well...

But thats just what I recall...

Yes I'd carry there if... IF I was allowed to carry at work. (No 30.06 but restriced by/in employee handbook.)

I go to others and carry, after all that's what concealed carry is all about: Only the LORD and I know, until needed. If I keep it that way they'll never know one way or the other.

A true 30.06 sign and my weapon and I will not cross.

Yes, I'll still eat there and collect my 10% discount and since I live on the west side of Ft. Worth I'll never be here after hours to test it. 'Tiz cheaper to eat there than drive anywhere else. (I can't stand Burger King and their adolescent ads, 'sides their unclean grills irritate my palate.) And have you ever tried to cross Alsbury during the noon hour??? Impossible!!!!

I used to go to that Taco Cabana in Burleson every Thursday night. We had a weekly car meet there before. I didn't have a CHL back then so it wasn't an issue. I'd avoid it now, and all Taco Cabanas.

We don't have a Taco Cabana nearby, but I try to avoid all businesses with 30.06 posting.
If there were enough of us, we could actually put economic pressure on them (ie, boycot) to take the signs down. I've always thought that the threat of losing $$ was greater than the threat of a law changing.
Unfortunately, there aren't enough of us.
In my case, most friends don't carry and wouldn't know a 30.06 sign if it hit them in the head. They certainly wouldn't take my "I don't want to eat here because" argument seriously. (Not only that, but there are many people that have no idea that I carry, and I choose to keep it that way.)

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

Does your handbook have the wording of 30.06. Per the law, any written notice must meet 30.06 wording. It just doesn't have to meet size reqs. Of course its your business' discretion on whether or not you would be fired, but since your following point is held, would they ever know?

My little bro used to work at that BK as a crew leader and kept them in top shape. Unfortunately, that was about a year ago, and I can't speak for their current practices. As for Alsbury, I feel your pain ;-)

My employer also prohibits us from carrying on the job. They also say that people aren't allowed in if carrying. I got into an argument with the director of Human Resources because they don't have the proper signs posted. She couldn't be told otherwise so i let it go. We have the "unlicensed posession" signs but that's it. In her eyes that's all we need to have posted.

So, anyways, if you like wings and beer feel free to carry in our stores. Our establishments rhyme with "looters".

haha
