"Real Gun Show" - Bell County

Post by HankB »

I got a postcard advertising "The Real Gun Show" in Bell County this weekend, March 19 &20 . . . I attended this show about 5 years ago and wasn't particularly impressed.

Any more recent feedback? I'm wondering if it's worth the drive up from the Austin area.

I cant comment on any gun shows in your area, however, I have attended 4-5 times in the past year, "The Real Gun Show" and 4-5 times "The High Caliber Gun Show" in Pasadena, or Houston.
In all instances, "The High Caliber" had many more new guns and pricing similar or slightly better than retail. To contrast, "The Real" had a lot of non-guns, like knives, jerky, trinkets, and for those that were there with new guns, their prices were considerably higher than retail.

A recent example, I was at The High Caliber 2 weekends ago in Pasadena with my boss to help him find a nice .22 for his son, good pricing, lots to look at. the next weekend, I went to The Real Gun Show at Pasadena with a co-worker and her husband, for the same reason, a gun that the previous weekend was $400, was now high $400's or even into the $500's.

I went to my last "Real" (and I use the term loosely) show last year. Most of the vendors are selling wood carvings, junk jewelry, and other trinkets. More like a crafts show with a few gun and gun related vendors there. Total waste of time. I wouldn't go to one if the admittance and parking were free.

A few days ago, I heard that Real took over the Conroe Saxet show and also the small BoDon show in Port Arthur.

For me, the appeal of these other shows was the different mix of vendors.

I hope that is not the case. I see the BoDon show listed on the Real site, but no mention of Conroe.

I stopped attending the real guns shows. Completly agree with the posted comments. Kind of had the feeling i was going to a flea market. The high cliber show at Pasadena show has changed as well.

The Reliant Show three times a year is the best show IMO.

Went to the "real" gun show in pasadena this past weekend. It was past a disappointment. Had my tax return to spend and walked away with nothing . If your really board and want to look at a few guns and alot of junk then feel free to waste some time but dont count on much
