New Kimber Ultra+ CDP II - question

Post by AEA »

Photo of the Full-Length Grip on the left and the Short Grip (I assume 7 rounds) on the right.

What is the silver piece above the trigger on the Full-Length Grip model (highlighted in red) that the shortened grip model (or any other Kimber model) does not have?

I'm not a Kimber expert, but I think:

If the + means the longer grip

I think you are seeing reflected light from photography or photoshop error?

compare to the + here http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/cdp-i ... lus-cdp-ii" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I agree it looks like a problem of some sort. If you look closely at the rear of the piece in question you can see the reflection of the top/side of the trigger in the piece.

I do not think it is anyone's photoshop image because I scanned & attached the picture posted inside the front cover of this Month's (April 2011) America's Freedom (NRA) Magazine.

Alan - I can't explain the artifact, but it's good to have you back and posting.

The 'shiny' bit is just a reflection - there is nothing extra there. It is beveled and polished. The Ultra + is a 3" barrel but comes with the full size frame an grips.

I know there's nothing there, but that's one heck of a reflection. I don't think it's polished either, based on this photo:

It's not. I have an Ultra CDP II (not the "plus") and the frame is matte black. The closest thing to shiny on the whole pistol are the barrel hood & muzzle.
