I'd be interested. I typically shoot IDPA wed/sat at Elm Fork and live in Plano. Might be best to just pick a spot. There's also a new range out in Greenville (APG) but it's probably not too close for most. (45 min NE of Plano). Let us know where you decide to hold the get together and I'll show up, for sure...........Heck, we could even pick a place to meet (LOL......grapevine mills mall) and just shoot the breeze.

zeroskillz wrote:hey tomc, does the club allow practice from a holster and rapid fire--at least more than a double tap? I've been eye-balling your club online for a bit but haven't had a chance to make it out there yet. I'd love a place where I could practice IDPA type drills.
Pretty much all of our matches start from concealment where you draw and engage and reload as necessary. our only requirement during the matches is you are under the direction of a range officer and you do whatever you do safely. If you are a member, you are your own range officer and you can do what you want as long as you are safe. We will help you practice this if you are uncomfortable with drawing or you don't have to draw if you don't want.

You are more than welcome to come and observe during our matches or just come and shoot with us ans have some fun.

I would definetly be interested in this. Another spot would be http://www.winchestergallery.com/index. ... e=Gunrange, it is on the east side of fort worth.

Man, I must be the only forum member who even knows Texoma Gun Club even exists! Sherman, TX, no membership necessary, reasonable daily rates, no range nazis.

You're not alone. I just bought an XD-45 at the Texoma Gun Club.

Sign me up, I like shooting with friends more than I like shooting at bad guys. Well I also like shooting at deer or pheasants too, but not with my carry piece.

Well, it looks like we have overwhelming interest in coming up with a "regular" range date and location for Dallas area forum members. And we've had a number of suggestions/recommendations for ranges to use. It was my orginal suggestion, but I am open to suggestions as to how to implement this. It's probably going to be easier to set the date than the location. I'd suggest we stick with the first, second, third or fourth Saturday of the month. I could put together a poll to determine preferences of days. But how do we pick a range from all those submitted? Do we rotate?

I would be interested as well although would probably be an off and on participant given the Saturday activities of my kids.

Probably best to just pick a date/time/place and then see how many would attend. It's easier to shift slightly if there's too many conflicts than trying to accomodate everyone at once.

i'd be up for it, but i have two requirements:
1. plenty of room for high power rifles (so no sissy 15 yard only ranges).
2. FMJ must be ok.

other than that, i'm good to go.
