The notch in the magazine...

Post by TLE2 »

I was looking on line today because I need to pick up a couple of extra mags for the Kimber 1911. I was on the Midway website, specifically looking a Wilson Combat because I already have four of them and they work well.

I noticed that one model of magazine, like the one's I have, have a horizontal notch cut on the corner of the leading edge. There was another model, also noted to be for the same size and style gun, had no such notch.

I thought this notch was for the magazine catch, but what is the deal with the magazines without the notch? Just curious and eager to learn.

If I missed a previous discussion in my search: Mea Culpa.

Maybe the photo was reversed. My 1911 mags only have the notch on one side.

The on-line catalog showed both sides (thankfully) sans slot. Beats me.
