I generally do not carry any spare mags. I usually have a G19 or a G26 as my primary and a Kahr PM9 as a back-up, while sometimes also having either a S&W 642 or a Kel-Tec P3AT on my ankle. That's anywhere from 18 to 34 rounds in total. I figure most of your run of the mill gun fights will involve me bugging out before I get off that many rounds.
I usually have 2 extra mags for my primary weapon in my car (center console), so if I can get to my car, I have 20-30 more rounds available.
If I am carrying light for some reason, with the PM9 as a primary, then I will carry a couple extra mags in a pocket (pants or coat if I'm wearing one).
How do you carry your spare mags?

Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
If I'm carrying my XD I carry at 8:00 in the dual mag OWB holder that came with the gun. I keep thinking about getting something "better" but it works so I haven't really bothered.
If I'm carrying my Defender it too has spare at 8:00 in a Tucker Leather IWB.
I also employee the 5.11 undershirt holster so the spares are under my right arm.
And then sometimes, depending on what I'm wearing or doing it may just end up in a pocket.

I carry two rounds. One in the chamber and one in my pocket in case I miss.

I try to keep it simple...I tend to forget things (kidding)...
Left back pocket, and it is two single stackers for the Springfield 1911...
They are either two Wilson Combat, or two Shooting Star mags...FYI...

DeSantis double mag pouch worn OWB at the 9 poistion. Weak side for me since I'm right handed. I don't worry about concealment of extra mags anymore than my firearm. My logic is that if I have bulges on both sides its less attention grabbing.

I use Comp-Tac mag carriers. I usually just keep on on my weak side right above my pocket. Sometimes I'll carry two but that's rare.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.
Re: How do you carry your spare mags?
If I'm carrying OWB I carry two spare mags in an OWB fobus paddle on the other side. If I'm carrying IWB I'll just carry one spare mag in a front pants pocket or jacket pocket.
