Crime Statistics, Pasadena Texas

Post by Teamless »

I have a co-worker who has asked me to talk with his wife about him wanting to keep a home defense shotgun in their house.
She has agreed to discuss it, which means she is open minded, but I wanted to bring her statistics as well, if that became a topic of discussion.

They have just bought a house in Pasadena, and while I have found a few sites (thanks Google!) with a bit of statistics, I haven't found anything that I can validate, or any newer than 2008.
Does anyone have any resource location that I could pull up this data?

Thanks

Try this link. I am not sure how complete it is. Pasadena, TX show only one incident, so that's hard to believe.

Google is all I know offhand, I lived there 1978-ish to 2005-ish or 2007-ish (slow moving van)

Try calling the Pasadena PD. They might point you in the right direction.

Having been through more than one hurricane there, I can tell you where it floods and doesn't flood, but I can't help a lot on crime stuff. Like all cities, parts of town are better than others. "Old" neighborhoods are not necessarily "bad" in Pasadena like in some cities.

Make sure you play her the Joe Horn (Timberline Drive, Pasadena) 911 call to set the mood.

Thanks for all of the replies, and especially the Joe Horn situation, I had forgotten about.

How about this:

You are more likely to be robbed, burglarized, be a victim of larceny and motor vehicle theft than the US average.

Less likely to be murdered, raped, and assaulted than the average for the US.

Do you know where in Pasadena they are moving to? I grew up there but i know some areas are still relatively good. I drove by my old house and things still look the same just a little more busy. Places near the beltway seem to be doing okay. It gets kind of sketchy, in my opinion, as you near Pasadena Mall, 225, etc.

OKay, i grew up in that area as well. That area is pretty busy and i have a friend that still lives down the road on fairmont. He has no complaints besides traffic on fairmont. I would venture to say that around there its one of the better areas of pasadena. I remember driving by there on the beltway and saw a good presence of LEOs. Good luck with the discussion!

I live in that area, while it is one of the nicer parts of pasadena, that normally makes me a little more worried about a home invasion time deal
