I understand people can get burned by anything, but I would suggest sending it to Taurus again for repair, explaining what you have here. They send FedEx right to your door, so nothing to lose. As to "stay away from Taurus semi-autos" altogether ....keep in mind they make scores of different ones and kinds, with the Millinium only being one, and a lower priced one at that. Millinium has had several issues, thats why I have suggested the 24/7. I have had 3,000 flawless rounds, with 800 being in one 8 hour period, and 1,000 on another. Now the mag release I can't explain, as I have never hit it, and seems to be nicely flush. But then, mine isn't the Millinium, although a similar design. Unlike the Millinium, the 24/7 has the double strike DA/SA, and some have the ribber grips that were never available on the Millinium. Call them and give them another chance!Pete92FS wrote:I guess with any gun you can get a lemon. Some people swear by them but I had a Millinium Pro PT145 and it was a piece of junk. One of the magazines that came with it was faulty and Taurus replaced it with no problem - they have excellant customer service. It would have a failure to feed at least one per magazine when I first got it and only improved to maybe every other mag after about 500 rounds. The mag release was positioned in a way where I would inadvertantly push the release and drop the mag while firing. I may consider a Taurus revolver someday but I will personally stay away from Taurus semi-auto's in the future.

Actually I think the shortest barrel length on a .45 ACP M&P is 4 inches (and overall is similar in size to a mid-size Glock 19, 23, 32 etc), thus not fitting the OP's stated criteria. Otherwise, M&P is my first choice in striker-fired .45gigag04 wrote:M&P or G30sf or G36. I like the Kahrs as well.

I traded it in on a Kimber Ultra Crimson CarryII about a year and a half ago and it's been flawless.wgoforth wrote:I understand people can get burned by anything, but I would suggest sending it to Taurus again for repair, explaining what you have here. I vote PM45 or P45. I have a PM45 and it has been flawless and as a bonus it accepts and functions with my Wilson 1911 mags.

.45 Kahrs accept 1911 mags? Didn't know that.Mike from Texas wrote:I vote PM45 or P45. I have a PM45 and it has been flawless and as a bonus it accepts and functions with my Wilson 1911 mags.
Related note: why does Kahr not offer a steel-frame .45?

Yep, that was a nice surprise. I just happened to find out by coincidence one day. I was comparing the Kahr mag to my 1911 mags and noticed the looked very similar. I put one in the mag chute and it clicked into place. So I went to the range and function tested them and they performed almost flawlessly. I say almost because the fed perfectly but would not lock the slide back on empty every time.austinrealtor wrote:.45 Kahrs accept 1911 mags? Didn't know that.Mike from Texas wrote:I vote PM45 or P45. Not sure why the don't offer a 45 in the K series guns but I like my PM series.
