1911 Question? Need Advice.

Post by longhorn_92 »

I have an opportunity to maybe trade for a Les Baer Monolith Comanche Heavyweight.

I know the reputation of Les Baer...

Can anyone help me out on this particular handgun? Does anyone have experience with this one? If so, what are the pros and cons about it?

What is a fair market value for this gun? It does have close to 200 rounds through it and it has been described as excellent.

Here are some pictures of it:

Please help. Thanks.

FMV in excellent condition should be around 1600-1800.

If you trade pick up a pair of CC suspenders 'cause that puppy will drop your drawers!

I'm glad I asked... the guy was asking for the trade value of close to $2,100. That is just too much... it sure was pretty though. Oh well...

It's a beauty, but IMHO not $2,100 beautiful! And I thought Kimbers were expensive!!

The pistol is still in current production, so I see no reason to pay OVER list price for it.

I have a Les Baer myself - a very fine pistol, by the way - but personally see no use for the "Monolith" unless you're going to be using it strictly for competition where the extra weight up front may be an advantage.
