It's a 1911 action. You wouldn't want to carry a 1911 with the hammer down.

I don't like the 238 for this reason. I wouldn't pocket carry a 1911. The only way to carry is cocked and locked, but in my pocket, that just feels wrong unless you have custom holster for that gun which accommodates everything about it including the safety.

Some of the Para 1911's have an "LDA" light double action... meant to be carried (spurless) hammer down.
