Does anyone know where I could rent a spotting scope in Houston? I want to do some 200 and 300 yard work with my new AR, and really need a good spotting scope. I don't want to buy one yet, plus, even if I did, I'd want to rent first to try some.
Any ideas?

Call some local shooting ranges. They might have one for rent while you shoot there. I've also seen ranges with a shared spotting scope. Maybe ASC? But I haven't been there since Ike. (The hurricane, not the POTUS.

No clue, so natually that makes me qualified to render an opinion.G192627 wrote:Does anyone know where I could rent a spotting scope in Houston? I would call the range where you can shoot those distances and see if they have any ideas. If there's a market for it, they might be willing to purchase one and then rent it out at a higher fee.
I know what you mean. Those really high quality scopes are very expensive and zooming in the cheap ones is like putting on the lense cap.

I would check with Carter's Country on the north side.

Re: Houston: Rent a spotting scope?
I would be shooting at American Shooting Center.
For the 100 yard and under range they have shared scopes that are adequate for that distance, but I don't believe they have anything for the 200 yard+ range. And the scope they have out there wouldn't work on the 200 yard range, I can guarantee that.
I will call around. Carter's Country is a possibility too.
Thanks!
