There was no indication that he ever intended to use it there. He came in, prayed, and left. He was caught walking down the sidewalk away from the church.
True, he did have a very deadly blade, and apparently was carrying a "zip gun", so I would have definitely had my hand on my gun, which I always have at church.
can we carry in church?
We can at ours as long as you have a valid CHL.
The preacher said we could.

I don't know of a church that has a 30.06 sign. (Of course, that doesn't mean that there isn't a church somewhere posted.)
I carry my weapon to church, and so do a few other church members of whom I'm aware.
In the recent past, there were a few shootings in the Dallas area. I'm afraid no place is sacred in the eyes of evil persons. Some people are just wicked. Most of us here might not be looking for a fight; but unfortunately, a fight often looks for us.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

Yes sir. Read my signature.Ron C wrote:I carry everywhere I legally can. My pistol is becoming like my wallet. I figure as soon as I become able to guess when something is going to go wrong, I will start carrying it off and on......
I read it the same as everyone else. .

I don't carry at church, based on a personal conviction that I won't defend myself for being attacked for being a Christian. This is a real possibility as I look to moving to third world, undeveloped, hostile to Christianity type nations with an organization I'm working with.
However, I dare not project this personal conviction onto others, and I would appreciate as many people as possible carrying at my church.
There is another thread detailing the how and why I arrived at this thought, so if you are newer and want to address it, please search for that thread and bring it back to life. I don't want to hijack this.
It is looking like a good pro-church carry post :)

Sounds like a great time to introduce the first gun range at a church!!!!carlson1 wrote:He would have never made it to the Altar. I have a peace of mind at Church knowing there are several ARMED citizens as members. If my plan works with llwatson I am going to have many more ARMED citizens.
I'll be commuting from the DFW area, so keep a seat open for me!!!!

gigag04, if i were a churchgoer, i would still carry to church. churches are target rich environments, and for most of the crazies, it would have nothing to do with you being christian, just you being there....
kind of along the same lines as school shootings. most times the shooter's fire indiscriminently b/c they don't have particular targets - they just have lots of targets.
