Kleinschmit was the Author, and the others were joint-authors, so this is a good committee too! :hurry:

NONE of the conferees are from the B&I committe, which is where the petrochemical exemption came from. EXCELLENT NEWS for chemical plant workers!

So is there a realistic chance that this gets into law. After the celebratory hoopla after the campus carry Senate action - which came to naught - what's really up with this.

I note the deafening silence from Gov. Hairdo.

Employer parking lots will be fine. All conferees are very good on this issue and there is great support in the House and Senate.

It's just getting it out of committee, and Calendars by Tuesday.

That will be great and certainly a meaningful victory as it affects lots of folks. I take it that it will allow guns in cars even at the public and private universities.

Does that cover residential students? That would be an unintended consequence - guns in cars- for those opposed to campus gunnery. There are a fair number of car break-ins on college campuses, so they increased a risk factor as compared to campus carry bill.

IIRC, it doesn't have to go back through calendars.

Conference committee report is up.

They provide a nice comparison of the 3 versions on pages 7-9.

Thanks for the link. Looks like a benign report to me, but what do I know?

I don't think they have much room to work in calendars, but it looks like they were able to make a few minor improvements.

+1

The way I read the report's text, "and beg to report it back with the recommendation that it do pass in the form and text hereto attached." is that the Conference Committee has agreed on a final version and it now should go for a vote.
