Carry ammo
Moderator: carlson1
I have my granny set up with a Taurus .38 revolver. 5 rnd capacity. I have her loaded up with .38 SPFMJFN (Special Full Metal Jacket Flat Nose). I figure the special will be loud & scary and the flat will give some stopping power...but hey, what do I know?

When I do carry my 686 it is loaded with Federal Classic 125 gr JHP .357 magnums or the Remington 125 gr SJHP .357 magnum. I have carried CorBon 125 gr magnum also. Any full power 125 gr JHP .357 load is going to be my first choice in a .357 Magnum. The .38 Special +P 158 gr SWCHP would be my first choice in .38. Avoid FMJ and RNL as they are dismally poor stoppers.
