Irving PD FIRST CLASS
Irving PD FIRST CLASS
Just about a little while ago the Irving PD knocked my door. The lab covered the door as I looked out of my den window. I never look through the "peep hole" (the bulls eye). After his identification and my setting the weapon down and unlocking doors, wrong address, finding who called, him going 10-8, he came back and we visited for about 45 minutes. He was a young officer who is very bright and has a great future in LE. We shared war stories, looked at my newest Browning Hi Power, and he left. This was one of the GREATEST contacts I have had. It is better than the family reunions with all of my siblings who are still active LEO's. I have been in Irving for about 5 years and this would be my 4th contact with Irving PD in a room setting. I have been impressed each time. I had the Chief of Police speak to my Church last year honoring our public servants and he is also a fine Christian and ethical man.
Good report, Carlson. I don't know what it is about positive run-ins with LEO's that really make me smile. I really enjoy talking with them about their jobs, guns and the like.
I never know if it is proper etiquette to ask them about their pistols....
I need to get my hands on a Hi-Power one of these days.

They are just plain ole' SWEEEEEET. The first pistol I ever shot was a Hi Power. I still has a special place in my heart today.stevie_d_64 wrote:One of these days, one or more of you Browning Hi-Power folks is going to have to give me an education on this thing...
If guns kill people, then I can blame mispelled words on my pencil

While eating lunch at Schlotzky's in Nederland I noticed the Jefferson Co. SO deputy's Kimber. I commented that finding a Kimber ona LEO hip instead of a Sig or Tupperw errr Glock was great. She told me that Jefferson County issues the Kimbers.MrDrummy wrote: I never know if it is proper etiquette to ask them about their pistols....
Nice perk.
If they are packing anything besides 1911's I really don't pay attention.
Except for the Colt Python I saw a HPD packing the other day. I need to get me one of those.
Anygunanywhere but I ain't got no Glock yet.

I DID once ask an LEO in Mississippi about his S&W, and he was nothing but nice, and we ended up talking for awhile about all kinds of things, so I guess that I'm 100% on finding guys that want to talk about their sidearms!
He said he'd much rather be carrying a Sig, but that's what they issued him. I still can't get into my wife's Sig, but if she likes it....
