Color me impressed

Post by Mike from Texas »

I recently picked up an M&P 45 and was impressed with everything except the brutal trigger weight.

That is the average over 10 pulls.

At the advice of folks on this forum and a couple of others I picked up an Apex Tactical DCAEK. I elected not to install the heavier trigger return spring and was rewarded with a very pleasant surprise.

The difference in feel is night and day difference. It is so much smoother on the front and still breaks very crisp, at least for a striker fired pistol. I an even actually feel the trigger reset which since I am used to the very tactile reset of a Glock trigger and to a little lesser extent a 1911 trigger.
Now I am just waiting for them to release their RAM for the 45 which is supposed to make for a much more positive reset.

Anyone wanting improve the feel of their M&P trigger should give serious consideration to this kit. It took me a total of about 45 minutes to install and this included installing a set of night sights in the process.

I saw similar results in both my M&Ps .... 45 weight down to about 4.5 lbs and 9mm down to right at 4 lbs
