Now I know Why My Ears Have Been Burning

Post by jbenat »

You guys been talking about me! Just got through doing the initial cleaning of Txbells new SA Micro Compact to remove the factory goop. I'm the gun cleaning guru (or slave) around here and that was the 1st time I have tried to take down a 1911. What a trip! We have about 14 pistols and several rifles that are all easier to break down. Had to call S.A. customer service. I didn't know about that little plastic thing that fits on the slide rod (?). Anyway, after a little coaxing by a very young sounding girl (who reminded me how easy it is) I got the job done. That was kinda humiliating! Hope it gets easier from now on.
Now, am I on the road to 1911 conversion? Maybe. I think it's a great platform and many people a lot more knowledgable than I think they are the greatest thing since indoor plumbing. My MP's are nail drivers that make me look like a marksman. The MP 45 caliber will be out next month. I'll be watching reports about the MP 45. At that time I'll be in a better position to make that desision. After all, I've got more time (hopefully)than money.
Rey, I would love to shoot with you again. I think we have both expanded our collection a little. Bring Leo along, he's a good guy and I'll get Txbell to come with us. She's quite a little shooter!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

jbenat,
You are right. 1911 is the greatest thing since indoor plumbing. Matter-o-fact, it is the best thing since BEFORE INDOOR PLUMBING for us in East Texas.
