Customer: "I need some .22 ammo."
Salesperson: "What kind?"
Customer: "Whatever's cheap."
Salesperson: "Is it a rifle?"
Customer: "No, a pistol."
Salesperson to other Salesperson: " As long as it doesn't say "LR" it can be used in a pistol right?"
Salesperson #2: "Yep."
Salesperson #1 sets a box of .22 mag on the counter. "These should work."
Customer, pulls .22LR bullet from pocket, "mine look like these"
Salesperson #2: "We can measure it to see which it is."
At this point I couldn't hold my tongue any longer and I told all parties that the bullet he produced from his pocket was a .22 LR and it wasn't only for rifles but any firearm chambered in that caliber. The "long rifle" was just the name of the cartridge. All three seemed shocked. I wish stores would make sure the people working the gun counter know what they are doing, it might save a life one day.
