So where are we for the legislative session?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

In November 2012, remember the House Republican leadership's tricks in killing campus carry. Twice.

Has anybody compiled a complete list of the time-wasting bills and who filed them, along with bills (gun related or not) that died as a result?

From what I've seen so far, nearly everybody has had legislation they wanted to see pass die for lack of time this session. If we can harness that into some angry letters, and votes against the ones who refuse to stop doing it, maybe we can get something done next time around.

ELB, I borrowed directly from your list above, and I just sent my representative, Vicki Truitt, the following email:
Hello Ms. Truitt,

I am one of your constituents who lives in Grapevine. I realize that you must have been very busy during the final push to get things through the legislature, but I did try to contact your office by email more than once during the process, and I never heard back from you.

I realize that there are many issues before the Legislature at any given time, and that what is important for me, may not be important for someone else—and that you are answerable to all of your constituents. At the state level, my primary issue in this legislative cycle has been the promotion of the 2nd Amendment and the expansion of the privileges it affords to us. The two legislative areas which were before this year's legislature that were the most important to me were Campus Carry, and Employer Parking.

Given the difficulty in trying to get an answer during the silly season, I would like to know how you voted on these specific bills. Your answers will be determinative as to whether I will vote for you in your next election effort, or help another Republican campaign in the next primary.

Here are the bills which concerned me, and which I would like to know what your vote was (if you were given a chance to vote either in committee or on the floor), or what your position would have been if you did not get a chance to vote:

Lastly, I would like to request that, when the Governor calls for a special session to extend the legislative calendar, that the Legislature refrain from using that time for frivolous crap like congratulatory recognitions, and use it instead for conducting The People's business.

As I said above, your answers as to how you voted and/or maneuvered on behalf of the above issues will determine whether or not I continue to support your future candidacies. I am eagerly awaiting your reply.

Very truly yours,
