fnh fnp45 tactical

Post by Fire1141 »

I need some help. Just got one of these and shot it today. Every 3rd or 4th mag, the slide wouldn't lock back after the last round. I bought it new, not sure if it needs breaking in or not, so I have come to the experts. Thanks for any input.

Cant give you advice with that particular gun except to say I recently had 2 new mags where the slide would not lock I took a close look at them and noticed a small amount of excess plastic from the molding process on the follower of the mag that was preventing it from locking, after removing the excess plastic it worked perfectly.

So, this is probably mag issue, not a pistol issue? That sure makes me feel better

Could be. Label your mags and pay attention to which number mag you're on when it happens. Look for a pattern of a certain mag doing it. Also insect that mag when it happens.

Just a suggestion, not to say your a bad shooter, but my wife loves to shoot my fn and about the same freqency as yours the slide didnt lock back either. but never happened when I shot it, found out she didn't have a solid enough grip and just the little bit of play wouldn't let the slide lock back. So that's my experience with it.

Combat, that may explain the infrequency. I will mark my mags and concentrate on my grip this weekend. Thanks
