Rooting an Android
Rooting an Android
It was pretty easy with the iPhone, and it looks like it is pretty easy with the HTC Evo Shift. Where can I find recovery images? Is the process pretty straightforward? I've looked at the one click root and it asks for the recovery images, and you click "go".
Any insight would be appreciated.

I would suggest checking out http://forum.xda-developers.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for what you want.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

The XDA Dev forums are definitely where it's at. Each phone is a little different, and has it's own quirks and procedures.
Hit the forums for your phone, read through the stickies and the important info posts, and in less than a Day you'll be be using terms like 'deodexed' and 'sideloading'
