9mm 1911 Mags

Post by dicion »

With all the mag talk lately, I figured I'd ask as well.

I have a Para LTC in 9mm, that has caused me nothing but problems for the past year, well, I've only gotten to shoot it like 3 times because it spent, literally, 6 months at Para, getting fixed.... annnyways.

It still has FTF issues on HP's, and occasionally on FMJ. Looking at the magazine.. well, let me just show you:

When I top it off, I have to work to get the first round seated all the way back, and nosed up. It usually loads fine. Subsequent rounds end up like this, which to me, is way too far forward, as well as nosed-down almost 90 degrees to the feed ramp. I'm guessing this is just the magazine being a really bad mag. On that, does anyone have any 9mm 1911 mags they recommend?

Edit: I know there's tons out there, I'm looking for someone with personal experience to say 'I've used these mags in a 9mm 1911, and theyre awesome'. I could guess and probably safely assume, that Tripp or Wilson 9mm mags are just as good as their .45 counterparts, but I would prefer hands on experience. Also, since the 1911 was not built for 9mm, I don't know if there's any issues with cross-compatibility of magazines across maunfacturers or not. The Para manual says to only use genuine Para mags.. which this Junk mag is... so that's out the window :smilelol5:

Edit Edit: Also, I have yet to find the wilson 9mm mags anywhere in stock :banghead:

Best to wait till Tuesday and call them before ordering to confirm in stock.
Some sites do not update their out of stock items.
